Mount Azuma

After traveling all day on August 19th to return to Eric's home in Fukushima Prefecture, we were ready to do something fun on August 20th--a "traditional" Japanese bus tour. As you might imagine, we were the only Americans on the tour, but it was a very enjoyable trip nonetheless. Here is a view from Mount Azuma, a volcano that we stopped at along the tour. Certain areas along the road to this point are marked "do not roll down windows" because of the sulfurous vapors that hang in the air from this far-from-inactive geological area.
