Pinnacles

Pinnacles National Monument, December 30:  Not too far from the small town of Soledad is the Pinnacles National Monument, which is the remnant of a volcano that last erupted several million years ago. The other part of the volcano is located about 145 miles south--the entire area is along the San Andreas Fault. This is a picture of some of the rock formations at the park.
