Sunset Reflected

Pinnacles National Monument, December 30:  When it comes to hiking and exploring, I'm notoriously bad at time and distance calculations: either it takes way less time than planned, or a lot more than expected. I got started at Pinnacles at about 3:20 in the afternoon, and the park closes at 6:00 during this time of year. This photo was taken at about 4:15, which isn't that long before sunset. Here the sun is reflected against some bare rock on one of the mountains surrounding the monument.
