Theodore Roosevelt Memorial

Sunday, February 29: The Theodore Roosevelt Memorial is aptly located on Theodore Roosevelt Island. One of the more inaccessible memorials in the Washington area, it requires a walk across a footbridge and through a wooded area on the island. In many ways, this is very fitting--after all, Theodore Roosevelt was well known for his dedication to conservation and outdoor life, and an outdoor memorial on an island without automobiles seems to make sense.
