Hakusan Range

Shirakawa-go; Wednesday, June 14, 2006: The Hakusan mountain range is right next to Shirakawa-go, and in fact the Hakusan Super Highway (a toll road) has an endpoint at Shirakawa. Hakusan itself isn't visible in this picture, but several peaks are visible. Even though it was over 30C (86F) in the village, the mountain peaks still had snow and the Hakusan toll road was closed.
