Ekblom Trail Crossing

Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Unit; Tuesday, July 21, 2009:  The Jones Creek trail ends at the Peaceful Valley Ranch, and from there I took the Ekblom trail in hopes of getting some backcountry hiking in. One of the challenges was crossing the Little Missouri River, which I did, rougly along the line of this photograph. At its deepest, it was maybe two feet deep, and had a relatively solid bottom so it wasn't difficult maintaining my footing, especially since I was wearing the right shoes for the job.
