Brewmaster Gothic

Washington, DC; March 9, 2012:  I was staying just off Dupont Circle for this visit to Washington, and whenever I'd get off at the Dupont Circle Metro I'd see signs for "Brewmaster's Castle." Turns out that it was the former residence of Christian Heurich, a beer baron at the end of the 1800s. The building is open on certain days for tours, and I took advantage of one of the tours to learn a little bit about the history of this gothic, fireproof mansion.
