Truman's Piano

Through some quirk of fate, I wound up having a private tour of the diplomatic reception rooms at the State Department on February 28, 2001. Apparently a tour group that was supposed to be there was running late...but the State Department doesn't wait around for stragglers. A somewhat befuddled tour guide and a State Department guard escorted me through the rooms, which included many early American antiques. Also included was Harry S. Truman's piano, which you can sort of see in this dark photo. If you're into art and antiques, this is definitely the tour to take.
