Platform Mound 2

This is another view of the large platform mound in the southwest corner of Aztalan. When Aztalan was inhabited, the mound was not covered with grass, but with a clay cap and a structure. Behind the mound is a reconstruction of the stockade that surrounded the village. Unlike the bare poles shown here, the original stockade was coated with dried mud and hay, making for a formidable wall.
