At lake level, a lot of the ground can become saturated with water, and my shoes did not escape another soaking on this particular Wednesday night. While I stayed pretty dry up until this point, I eventually had to slog through about six inches of water and muck to return to my car. Oddly, though, the water and muck didn't last long, and got me to a drier part of the park that I'm sure people were avoiding because of the rather inconveniently muddy approach.
