Yellowstone Lake

Yellowstone National Park: Located along the Yellowstone River is Yellowstone Lake, a large body of water that is very cold--except on the bottom. Right next to the lake in some areas are some very active geothermal features, with steam spitting out of cracks in the ground. Hiking around parts of the lake is not recommended.
