Austin Creek State Recreation Area, California; July 23, 2004: I celebrated my birthday with my brother and his family in Santa Rosa on Thursday, and on Friday I decided to hit the trails. The Austin Creek State Recreation Area is located immediately to the north of the Armstrong Redwoods Preserve, and offers plenty of hilly hiking with great views of the redwoods below and the coastal mountain ranges.
