World War II

March 1, 2005: On the evening of March 1, I decided to take a walk to see the monuments in Washington after dark. Unfortunately for me, it was cold, and my camera isn't particularly great at night photography. Plus, I don't think all of the monuments were fully lit. Shown here is the new World War II Memorial, which was completed in 2004. Each of the pillars has the name of a state or territory, with decorative panels inlaid in the entrance to the memorial.
