Dogfight

March 2, 2005: Because each year I try to do something new in Washington, I decided to take the shuttle bus from the Air & Space Museum on the Mall to the Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport. The Udvar-Hazy Center features all of the airplanes, rockets, and other aerospace items that the Smithsonian can't keep in downtown Washington. Shown here are some of the planes suspended above the hangar floor, where a SR-71 is parked.
