Mount Baker

September 19, 2007; Moran State Park, Orcas Island, Washington: It was a beautiful Wednesday, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s, and I took the Washington State Ferry from Anacortes to Orcas Island. Orcas is home to Moran State Park, where Mount Constitution rises to over 2,400 feet. I followed a trail from the base of the mountain at Cascade Lake all the way to the top, and stopped at this area on the trail to Little Summit. In the foreground is part of Orcas Island, and the mountain peeking over the clouds is Mount Baker, on the mainland.
