Raspberry Storm

September 13, 2007; Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Wisconsin: The plan for Thursday, September 13, was to hike on Sand Island. But when it comes to Lake Superior in the autumn, all plans are tentative. Though it was sunny and rather nice when we left port in Bayfield at 9:30, our cruise boat encountered a fast-moving storm near Raspberry Island. Here is the Raspberry Island Lighthouse from a bit more than a mile away, with the turbulent clouds above.
