Phoenix

Peoria, Arizona; November 27, 2011:  One of the nice things about staying at the timeshare condo was that they had a great concierge staff. And, only about five miles north was a small airfield, which was home to the Turf Soaring School, a place for pilots to get their glider certifications. It's also a place for tourists to get the chance to ride in--and, briefly, take the controls of--a glider. This is a picture of Peoria (foreground) and Phoenix (far background) as seen from the glider as we were being towed to altitude.
