The French Side

Pic Paradis, Saint Martin; October 25, 2011:  On the trip down the mountain, the driver stopped to roll a joint and crack open another beer (indeed, this isn't the U.S.), and meanwhile I took this picture of what I believe is Grand Case, on the French side of the island. There is a private nature preserve just below where I took this picture. One thing that surprised me about the island was just how many different fruits and nuts grow there, such as mangoes and almonds. Despite being a bit scary my driver did know an awful lot about both halves of the island from a local's perspective.
