Aerial Lift Bridge

Duluth, May 17: We arrived in Duluth shortly after 1:30, and after checking in at the hotel, we walked through the skywalk system to the Lake Superior shore. Shown here is the famous Aerial Lift Bridge, cloaked in fog. Unlike a drawbridge, the center section rises straight up to allow ship traffic through the canal into the harbor.
