Stockholm; Wednesday, June 21, 2006: Here's a view of the back of the Vasa, showing
some of the intricate carving. The boat sank because it was very tall, top-heavy (loaded with three
rows of cannons), and didn't have sufficient ballast.
The flag of Sweden is blue with a golden yellow cross extending to the edges of
the flag; the vertical part of the cross is shifted to the hoist side in the style
of the Dannebrog (Danish flag).
