Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore National Memorial: At 9:00 on the morning of July 27, I found myself at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial near Keystone, South Dakota. Mount Rushmore is such an identifiable part of American culture that it seems a little silly to describe it here, but for those of you visiting the site from overseas, the sculpture was done by Gutzon Borglum throughout the 1930s and very early 1940s. The heads are, from left, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
