Chujakumon and Butsuden

Fukui; Tuesday, June 13, 2006: With the smell of incense permeating the air and the sound of probably a dozen tour groups being hustled through the temple, Eiheiji was an interesting contrast between a moderately old Buddhist temple and an active center for Buddhist training. Shown here are the Chujakumon gate that leads to the Butsuden, where there is a large statue of the Buddha.
