London; Monday, June 26, 2006: This is a view of the London Eye, taken again from the
Victoria Tower Gardens park along the Thames. The bridge in front of the London Eye is the
Westminster Bridge.
The flag of the United Kingdom is
comprised of a blue field with the red cross of Saint George (patron saint of England)
edged in white superimposed on the diagonal red cross of Saint Patrick
(patron saint of Ireland), which is superimposed on the diagonal white cross of
Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland). It is properly known as the Union Flag,
but commonly called the Union Jack.
