London; Monday, June 26, 2006: This was another stop on our pub tour. I had a
Courage Director half-pint here. It was tasty. In front of the bar are one of the other pub
crawlers and Steve, our guide.
The flag of the United Kingdom is
comprised of a blue field with the red cross of Saint George (patron saint of England)
edged in white superimposed on the diagonal red cross of Saint Patrick
(patron saint of Ireland), which is superimposed on the diagonal white cross of
Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland). It is properly known as the Union Flag,
but commonly called the Union Jack.
