The Beaver and the Mink

Friday, March 2, 2007: Not far from the main entrance to the NMAI is this sculpture, called The Beaver and the Mink. Unlike many dusty museums that relegate American Indian culture to the history books, this museum presents a look at the spiritual beliefs of several different tribes in the Americas, as well as their current condition. The Museum has no particular agenda that I could discern, other than educating its patrons--which is what a good museum should do.
