Downstairs

Monday, March 5, 2007: This is a look at what can be seen on the way down the stairs in the Washington Monument. Oddly enough, the staircase is wider at the top than it is at the bottom, as the walls were thicker in the earliest days of construction. The center shaft is for the elevator.
