As the morning of August 14 continued, the crowd at Sensoji
grew larger. The smoke to the left of center in this photo isn't
a barbecue--it's a part of the religious festival. Taking in the
smoke is supposed to purify you.
Life expectancy is approximately 80.7 years in Japan. For men,
it is 77.5 years; for women, it is 84.1. The equivalent life expectancy
in the United States is 77.1 years, with 74.2 years for men and 79.9
