Lake Lida

Maplewood State Park, near Pelican Falls, Minnesota; Sunday, July 19, 2009:  This is a picture of Lake Lida, taken from the top of a hill as I was heading east along one of the northernmost trails in the park. Not too long before I got to this point, I scared a group of turkeys that was sitting in the weeds, and then saw a whitetail deer jump out of the way. And not to long after I was at this point, I surprised a horse--and her rider was nearly thrown off. Luckily the lady on the horse was fine, and the horse calmed down quite a bit after realizing I wasn't much of a threat.
