Dog Town
Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Unit; Tuesday, July 21, 2009:
Unlike the prairie dog towns along the park road, the prairie dog town along the Ekblom
Trail was a little bit more wild. As I approached, or would crest a hill, I would see
prairie dogs scurrying for cover with the sentinels barking on top of their mounds
until I passed. By contrast, the prairie dogs that live in towns along the park road
don't seem to care if people stop and get out of their cars and take pictures.
